Reset Procedure
- Turn the lid 'off', using the switch located at the back of the lid, and then remove the batteries or the ac adapter. (Note: Batteries and an ac adapter should never be used simultaneously as this will overheat the unit.)
- Allow the trash can lid to rest in a dark, dry place while the power drains and the sensor dries for at least 3 hours.
- Following the resting period, fully open and close the lid 15 times manually at a semi-slow speed.
- Make sure to clear protective seal that is covering the sensor has been removed from the sensor area and that the sensor is free from any dust or grease.
- Insert batteries or re-connect the ac adapter and turn the lid back on.
- Press the manual open button and then the close button. Do this step again to make sure that the lid fully opens and closes correctly.

How to install air damper holder
- You will need to takeoff the filter compartment with the 4 screws
- Remove the filter compartment from the metal rod
- Unscrew the 4 screws on the inside of the can body that holds the holder
- Remove the original holder and insert the new holder (when installing the new holder make sure to put the metal rod through the hole)
- Screw in all screws
Cleaning the rust off your can body
- Rub the rust area with a little bit of turpentine then clean with soft soapy water.
- Wipe WD-40 on the rust spot scrub a little then wipe off with a clean cloth.
- To remove from stainless decking material, sprinkle a bit of salt then squeeze a lime over it let site for 2 -3 hours and scrub with a small old brush to remove rust and wash with warm soapy water.
- You can use any commercial stainless-steel cleaner.Use lemon juice on the rust spot, let sit for a couple hours, then rub rust off and clean with soapy water.
- Mix a paste of baking soda, lemon juice and a squirt of liquid dish-washing detergent.
- Put on rust rub in, let sit, then rub off and wash with soapy water
