I bought this can to replace an older iTouchless that wore out. It always worked well. The new can lid worked less than half the time. It would open and sometimes stay open for hours. I tried all the reset instructions. I reported this and you sent me a new lid. This one works better, but still only 60-70% of the time. Otherwise, it stays open, sometimes for hours and then shuts and works normally again, temporarily. This new can is powered by the AC adapter that was used for my former iTouchless can. It would seem that your current generation of sensing mechanism is not great.
