Sensor Lid Cover for IT18RC and IT23RC

The 1st lid was broken and the sensor worked, the replacement lids sensor isn't working with the batteries that work in the broken one??? Are these being inspected before shipping? I do not want another sent to me I just want a refund. I even bought brand new batteries (Duracell) just to be sure and it doesn't activate at all. This trash can made the workflow of the business easier when it works!!!

I like the confinement of smell of the unit. Also the customer service was personable. They troubleshoot over the phone and have great staff.

From the day I received the replacement lid, it hasn't worked. We tried putting it in a dark room for 3 hours then slowly opening and closing the lid 15 times slowly. These were the troubleshooting instructions we got for the last new lid we used in October. So, the last 2 new lids haven't work. We've had this trash can and lids for 18+ years and simply love the product. The new lids we've gotten in the last few years haven't been functioning that well. This one makes 4 new ones in the last 2 years that haven't worked right out of the box either with the electrical adapter or batteries. Is there anything we can do to make it work? Help!!!

The new one works well so far. I would have liked the option to return the broken one for a credit. I'm sure that it could be refurbished for resale. I would have also considered a refurbished one for a lower price.
