Before I stated using, I put in new fresh batteries. It seemed sluggish, so I put in another set of batteries. This top makes you stand there gesture and wave your hand before it opens. What a disappointment. You should replace it.

Lid has a mind of it's own

This is my 2nd replacement. I really like the size of my trash can/lid as it fits nicely in the corner, but this lid has a mind of it's own. Sometimes it opens up all the way and sometimes, just a smidge where I have to help it. I don't believe my other 2 lids were like this one. My batteries are brand new and while testing the batteries - power is up. So I'm not sure if this is the norm or a defect. Perhaps I will call and inquire tomorrow.
